Acknowledge Appreciation

I've been home in South Carolina for a few days now.

Six months separate this visit from my prior to the beautiful Palmetto State.

Admittedly, writing this newsletter has not been my top priority. So, in a brief moment of inspiration, I managed to transcribe what I'm thinking and how I feel in the moment.

Between a rapid succession of laptop key clicks, I periodically gaze up to look through the broad window directly in front of me. Only a thin sheet of glass stands between my perch and the lake I spent my childhood summers exploring.

The sun is shining, the clouds are fluffy, the breeze is refreshing, and the water is calm. Boats zoom to and fro - enjoying a leisurely summer afternoon.

Visiting home is always a mixture of emotions - none of them bad.

Priorities, which seemed so habitual and immovable just last week, feel irrelevant now. A momentary pause - I have no doubt they will re-emerge in full force in short order.

But not this week. Not while I'm home.

The past few days I've tried to focus entirely on my family and my girlfriend - listening, laughing, loving. We could talk about anything, everything, or nothing at all. It couldn't matter less. I'm just thankful for these moments - especially now that they are few and far between.

This week I'm acknowledging appreciation - for my loved ones, for the life I'm building, and for the moment I'm living - whatever that moment may be.

So, here is a subtle reminder to acknowledge what and who you appreciate too.

That's it for this issue, everyone. If you made it this far, thank you for your time. I appreciate you tremendously.

As always, I encourage you to send any feedback, thoughts, or ideas - your opinion matters to me and I'd love to hear what you have to say.

Have a week,
